FEI Conculting Festival and Events International

Expertise: Strategic and Business Planning

STRATEGIC PLANS
FEI Strategic Plans are high level documents that can be used to chart the event or organisation's ambition and progress over a number of years.

Belfast City Council enlisted FEI’s help to develop its Major Events Strategy by benchmarking the city against eight international centres. Swale Borough Council in North Kent asked FEI to produce an overarching Festivals Strategy. And we have also produced Festival and Event Strategies for Birmingham and  Basingstoke.

BUSINESS CASE
A Business Case can help articulate the vision and provide an objective and informed market analysis that will:

  • Identify the Strategic, Economic, Commercial, Financial and Managerial case for the proposed initiative
  • Evaluate the project’s chances of success
  • Consult with and gather support from key stakeholders

In Northern Ireland we wrote a successful Business Case for the Tourist Board to develop a new programme of major events that resulted in substantial funding. Canterbury Festival asked FEI to produce a Business Case for the organisation to purchase and develop a property as its new home and Festival Centre.

BUSINESS PLAN
Once the project has gained initial support FEI can work with the client to produce a detailed Business Plan.  This will describe how the project will move from concept to reality, including:

  • Product, concept or programme
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Operational and Financial Management
  • Governance and Management
  • Fundraising and Financing
  • Evaluation

We wrote a detailed Business Plan for Birmingham Autumn a new initiative for Birmingham City Council including an Economic Impact Appraisal of the initiative. Workplace Gallery in Gateshead asked FEI to write a detailed Business Plan that ultimately resulted in new funding.
