Festivals and Events

FEI can help public agencies to:

  • Shape their cities and regions and raise their profile
  • Assist in economic and social regeneration
  • Create destination marketing strategies that generate cultural tourism
  • Develop quality of life of their citizens and enhance social inclusion

FEI works with existing festivals and events to:

  • Develop and build their own capacity
  • Increase success through project management or operational outsourcing
  • Facilitate organisations and stakeholders in a process of peer assessment and organisational development through our Festival Health Check.

FEI’s directors have produced and collaborated with some of the world’s finest cultural events. They have an extensive network of festival and event programmers, producers, fundraisers and marketers, working in all disciplines, from across the world.

Outdoor events

The power of outdoor events is becoming increasingly recognised as a tool for animation of the public realm and developing community cohesion. FEI's directors have developed and delivered many outdoor events from major concerts for audiences in excess of 250,000 to small scale community events, carnivals and parades.

Cultural festivals

Festivals bring excitement and celebration to cultural activity, develop innovation and risk in art forms, engage new and non-traditional audiences, generate positive place-making and bring economic benefits to an area. Festivals can:

  • Deliver cultural activity to a high standard for clearly targeted outcomes
  • Showcase a cultural offer to attract visitors and businesses
  • Be cost effective, avoiding the need for expensive the infrastructure of building based organisations
  • Reach wide audiences through genres such as Music, Dance, Literature, Science, Theatre, Film and even Food!

Sports Events

Sports events are increasingly identifying with the power and excitement of festival style presentation. FEI is working with a number of organisations to bring its skills and experience to developing major sporting festivals in the period leading up to the London Olympics in 2012 and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014, with a view to creating a lasting legacy.

Public Celebrations

FEI can bring its festivals and events experience to bear on a wide range of public celebrations. Universities and academic institutions combining celebration of a significant anniversary with an alumni fundraising campaign; towns and cities celebrating their founding; professional institutions hoping to raise their profile can all benefit from FEI’s experience.
