Case Study:
|
The Scotswood Expo is a visionary urban regeneration project in the West End of Newcastle. The Scotswood Expo Masterplan is intended to be a model of good practice based around three key principles:
The Cultural Programme is completely integrated into the fabric of Scotswood Expo. It will use culture in its broadest sense to reinforce the regeneration aims stated above and facilitate the creation of a new, sustainable and socially cohesive community on the firm foundations of the old. Most importantly it will drive a considerable change in public perception of Scotswood which will make it a desirable residential location. FEI was commissioned to create a project team of specialist consultants to research and produce a Business Plan for this major new event leading up to 2011. After benchmarking various national and international comparators destination consultancy Blue Sail created an outline Marketing Strategy for both professional and visitor audiences. Economic and social development specialist SQW Consulting evaluated the Economic and Social Benefits of the project and proposed a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework. Accountancy firm Chiene and Tait provided financial and risk management advice and modelling. |
FEI helped the client clarify the Cultural Programme’s aims and objectives and created a programming framework for the event. We then went on to propose the event management structure, governance model, staffing requirements and operational systems. We produced detailed operational budgets and an outline Fundraising Strategy for the event. FEI Director, James Waters managed the team of eight consultants to produce the Business Plan over a four month period, delivering the final report to the client in November 2008.
