Becky Schutt

Becky Schutt is a strategic management consultant in the international arts sector, working with museums, theatres, festivals and governments. She specialises in organisational planning, capital project planning, and cultural policy, and works regularly in the USA and UK. Past and present clients include Amman National Music Conservatory, Arts Centre Melbourne, Arts Council England, Art Dubai, Beamish Museum, Belfast City Council, British Council, County Durham Council, National Museum of Afghanistan, Nesta, Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Nuffield Theatre and Tate.

In addition to consulting Becky established and delivers the Cultural, Arts and Media Management concentration on the MBA course at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, where she is a Fellow. She has also authored case studies in the Financial Times, the European Case Clearing House and at JBS on the UK's National Theatre Live, Aldeburgh Music, AxelSpringer, CultureLabel, Digital Theatre and Sky Arts for teaching in arts administration and business schools.

 

 

 


   

She was recently appointed Chair of a new initiative being developed by Society of London Theatre, Theatrical Management Association and Prince's Foundation for Children & the Arts to deliver 'relaxed performances' for people with autism and their families, being piloted at Unicorn, National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Ambassador Theatre Group and regional venues in late 2012-2013.

Becky began her career in the cultural sector with Artrain USA (a museum on a train), later serving as Special Assistant to the Director of the Newark Museum. She has also worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, and the Ann Arbor Hands-on Museum.

She received her BA in Arts and Ideas from the University of Michigan and her MBA from Cambridge Judge Business School in 2004. She is a governor of Haymerle School for children with autism in South London and a board member of Hoipolloi Theatre Company.
